Flowing Wells Extension Programs, Inc. (F.W.E.P.) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, which was established in 1975 with a mission to enhance the educational process through a variety of extracurricular and supplementary activities for those in the Flowing Wells School District and the surrounding area. F.W.E.P. hopes to obtain its mission by: (1) developing a strong partnership with the Flowing Wells School District and the local community; (2) constantly identifying and accessing the school district’s and the community’s needs; (3) supporting the educational objectives of the Flowing Wells School District for the betterment of the students; (4) providing safe and enjoyable programs for children and adults within the area; and (5) achieving a strong financial foundation from which to implement a variety of programs.
Our current programs include: Y.E.S. − before- and after-school childcare; Skills for Success − a grant-funded, after-school and summer program offered to students free of charge; Project S.T.A.R. − a six-week summer school program that serves the greater Tucson area and offers dozens of specialty classes; High School Summer School − a program where high school students can make up failed classes or get ahead for the next year; and Behind the Wheel − a class that takes place in a car to give students actual driving experience before obtaining their license. We also have tutoring, community education classes, intergenerational arts and crafts workshops, and much more.
